‘An AIDS free future – it starts with me’
Our guest speaker Sindi Magona, who is a renowned writer, shared with us some important insights. We were challenged and reminded that the sanctity of marriage is not a protection against the virus, unless both partners are faithful. She told us of one friend who knew for a fact that her husband was sleeping around but who said ‘God will protect us married women’. The reality is that God does protect us - he has given us the wisdom to ask for condoms or to leave the relationship. ‘When people sleep around, the relationship is already toxic and now it can kill you’. She went on to say ‘a marriage certificate should not become a death certificate.
